Hello their 2017! How has the start to your New Year been? Mine, great so far. We joined the gym…I’m participating in a boot camp starting January 9 (I’ll keep you all posted) and the kids are all back to school! I’ve been cleaning out closets, organizing like a mad women (somehow I still have so much to do).
There has been a huge theme for me in the last 6 months…TOO MUCH STUFF! I know this comes on the heels of Christmas (where we spent too much, received too much, gave the kids too much) but I am really starting to think more and more about simpler, less! As a fashion blogger this can be hard…loving clothes, wanting to stay current, comparing yourself to all the other bloggers who spend ridiculous amounts on clothes or get them for free, wanting to help you all know how and where to shop for the things you’re all looking for. But as I reflect on my own closet, my own clothes I feel bad. Badly that I don’t wear the things I actually love, badly about the things I bought without any real clue why, badly about the fact that I have so much and continue to desire “new” or “different” pieces.
So with all those confessions I’m going to figure out a way to deal with myself. I’ll keep you posted on what that looks like. Ha Ha!!
Target has been slaying it this fall / winter with their clothing…especially their dresses. I may have scored like 3 this fall and I love them! This purple number was the first and I was drawn to the color (which is not normal for me). You also saw this one here, which is so cute and I know several of you picked it up after I posted it 🙂 I find dresses like these to be SO easy to wear and super wearable by almost all body types! They can be worn in the fall with nothing on the legs or in the winter with leggings / tights…throw a leather bomber over them or a long boyfriend style cardigan. Shoes…simple, ankle booties, OTK (over the knee) boots, how about your winter boots like Bogs, Hunters, or Sorels?!?!
I also love a good hat…and this one just adds the “boho” feel to this whole look! I think a beanie would be super cute too with a leather jacket and ankle boots!
If any of you have a suggestion on how I can REALLY pair down my closet and how to really “clean it out” I am all ears!!!! I was thinking I need a second closet to move things in to and if I don’t go looking for them then done…I don’t need them…whatcha think? My husband would have a coronary if I told him I needed another closet to figure out how to get rid of all the clothes I currently have (yikes). Maybe a storage unit…ha, ha!!
Night lovelies! XOXO
